                Slow Food Western Slope

Slow Food Western Slope functions as a chapter of Slow Food USA, a non-profit educational organization.  Our chapter covers a good stretch of land in Mesa, Delta and Montrose counties in western Colorado.  This area is rich in farms, orchards, ranches, vineyards and the arts and epitomizes the concepts of Slow Food - people live Slow Food.  We actively support school programs and sponsor the Kids’ Pasta Project. We also hold events that celebrate the good, clean food of the area.

BLM has announced that 22 parcels, which surround the North Fork Valley, are up for oil and gas lease sale in August 2012.  If sold, the livelihoods of area producers will be in jeopardy!!
